Joe Mauer

Regarded as one of the best defensive and offensive players in major league baseball, Joe Mauer is redefining the catcher position. A standout multi-sport athlete at Cretin-Derham Hall High School in St. Paul, Minnesota, Mauer was honored as the 2001 Gatorade National Player of the Year in both baseball and football. Following his 2004 debut with the Minnesota Twins, this homegrown star has gone on to shine with four MLB All-Star game appearances, three Gold Glove Awards and the 2009 American League MVP award. He is also the only catcher in major league history to win three batting titles. Mauer's quick swing and desire to call a good game have him poised to set new standards for his position throughout his career.
